From the very beginning, the Buddha was intimately connected to the Earth. He left his home, lived in the forest, meditated in nature and awakened under a tree next to a river. When Mara questioned his enlightenment, the Buddha didn’t say anything. He simply touched the earth as witness to his awakening.

Communication and Planning
  • Registered members will receive one email outlining the dates, times, and locations of all 6 NMKM Group gatherings for the 2025 season.
  • NMKM Group gathering information will also be posted in the RIM weekly newsletter the week prior to the event.
  • Only registered members will receive communication about last-minute cancellations due to inclement weather. If you have invited non-members to join you, please keep them informed.
Other Considerations
  • Each of the monthly NMKM Group gatherings will take about 75 minutes, including a walk, meditation, and time to discuss the experience.
  • Participants must have the physical ability to walk on uneven terrain for about 45 minutes.  The pace will be slow and the trails relatively easy.
  • Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes, dress for changing weather and bring a water bottle.
  • Participants are responsible for their own transportation to/from the park and for the park entrance fees.
Please see the new dates, time, and location.
