Susanne Adams

Volunteer

Susanne spent some years attempting to bring a meditation practice into her life, with difficulty and uneven results. Upon moving to Milwaukee in 2018, she intentionally sought a supportive mindfulness and meditation group.  In 2019 she found the RIM community, whose warmth, intentional practice, and knowledge has truly been a refuge. Her ever-evolving meditation and dharma practice continue to enrich her inner and outer lives.

Nature and interactions with people in nature have been both a career and a daily refuge. Her career in the Forest Service as a wildlife biologist and now in the field of outdoor recreation - Developed Recreation, along with daily explorations with her spouse and dog, keep Susanne grounded in the outdoors. Supporting wildland firefighting and hurricane recovery since 1990, through the "on the fireline" direct efforts of her youth to the logistical support of today, has been an exciting and fulfilling career.
